Bosnia and Herzegovina - a young country after the bloody war

Lethargy, distrust, but also hope
In Germany, many people don't know where to find Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) on the map. Well, it's the neighbouring country of Kroatia, where many tourists spend their summer holidays at the beach.
20 years after the Bosnian war in 1992 to 1995, people in BiH still struggle with the aftermath of war. At the theatre, like at the Sarajevo war theatre, they try to come to terms with pain and hate.
Something can always happen. Sadly, the song of German singer Maxim "Meine Soldaten" describes the country's current situation very well:

Doch es braucht nur einen Verräter, eine undichte Stelle,
eine winzigen Stein für eine gewaltige Welle,
ein Funken im Zunder und alles steht wieder in Flammen,
die ganze Fassade klappt wie ein Kartenhaus in sich zusammen,
klappt wie ein Kartenhaus in sich zusammen.//
But it only needs one traitor, one leak,
one tiny stone for a giant wave
one spark in the tinder and everything is in flames again.
The whole facade collapses like a house of cards.

A land of sharp contrasts.
Sarajevo's lost places - you can see them everywhere in the country.
Here used to be the frontline in Sarajevo. Still, you can see lots of bullet holes.

However, there is no war anymore!!! People enjoy life in "Kino Bosna", a former cinema and now a bar.
High above the city: Muslim cemetary, where war victims try to find their peace.
